Grain Fog is a project of Kelly Zantingh, a Victoria & Vancouver island based photographer specializing in weddings on film.

  • "I initially hired Kelly for my first romantic couples shoot. The shoot was intended to be intimate but tasteful, and my boyfriend at the time (now husband) and I were pretty nervous to have our photo taken, let alone with optionally minimal clothing. Before the day of the shoot, Kelly made sure all the details were discussed: what to be expected, what was needed, optional features and the overall vision and inspiraton for the shoot. Right away Kelly made us feel immensely comfortable. She has this beautiful way of giving you confidence in her photos and also helps you feel inspired the entire way through. She has this excitement about her work that is so contagious. She makes you feel like art. We were so happy with the shots from this shoot that when we were planning our wedding, the first detail we decided was our photographer because the choice was so easy: Kelly! Kelly captured our entire wedding in film from the first look to the late night dancing. We were so impressed. She made sure to offer us a list of classic wedding shots, but we were most excited for her use of artistic license in addition. She took gorgeous portraits, family photos, amazing stills from our dog who came running down through the woods as the ring bearer, and hilarious unforgettable moments of the day. When given a chance to have Kelly shoot our wedding, we said “We do!”."
